About this Event
An Open Letter to All Sister Eagles of 100strongandsexy and you all!__
I am not OK with the racial violence, racist threats, and continued dehumanizing injustices towards Black people. We are forever flooded with disturbing images and videos across social and news media channels. It is near impossible to tune it out. But as I write this today, I stand boldly and unapologetically as a Black woman and as the founder and your leadHER to say that Anti-black racism is real. Unconscious bias is real. Systemic oppression is real. We need to do better. I am standing in my power not to be silent.
__
100strongandsexy is about building bridges and community. The 100strongandsexy community is majority Black but has a membership that includes other races and ethnicities, and I encourage my non-Black sisters to stand with us on this bridge. Stand with us to lead with love and lead in truth against the fight to end anti-black racism. I encourage you to JOIN the conversation of change on Juneteenth (June 19th, 2020). __
Come and learn about our experiences, openly listen to our pain, and what is in our hearts so that you can be armed with the information and compassion to have the conversations within your communities.
__
The conversations confronting anti-black racism will not be comfortable, but we have to get uncomfortable to get comfortable. This is a love movement and education movement, and we are living in the pages of history. We can collectively and actively be the change that we want to see in this world by educating ourselves, speaking up, and taking action for change.
__
Please know that the 100strongandsexy LeadHERship team and I are here to support you and learn from you so that one day we can be more than OK.
